Our Owner, Lou’ay, is a Sheridan College graduate who believes in providing you value for your money. Lou’ay completes ongoing training for himself and his team, and is fluent in Arabic.

Together, the crew has over 30 years combined experience in interlock. We use cutting edge construction techniques, and are courteous and professional. We’re also ICPI (Interlock Concrete Paving Institute) certified.

Lou'ay

After 3 years of schooling at Sheridan College in Business Marketing, Lou’ay Sulaiman decided to apply his knowledge of landscaping and marketing to create a company that could serve the community. With over 10 years of experience in landscape construction, design, and maintenance, combined with his knowledge in business marketing, we were able to stand out as the best pool builders and landscape contractors to create a company that not only labelled their customers as kings but treated them like kings as well.

Mark

Our Customer Service Manager, Mark, joined our team in 2016. He is an alum of Toronto Metropolitian University in Global Management. Mark is a conscienance advocate of environmental issues and brings his passion for sustainabiltiy to the company. Mark has been in sales for 20+ years and prides himself on always improving our customer’s expereince. While being a “cat dad” for decades, Mark and his wife recently had a beautiful baby girl.

Tony

Our foreman, Tony, joined our team in 2020. Tony has over a decade of hardscaping experience. Starting with humble beginnings as a laborer, Tony has worked his way through the ranks. Tony is an active member of Interlock Concrete Paving Institute (ICPI) and Landscape Ontario. You’ll notice his work-ethic on the site and his keen eye for customer satisfaction. Tony keeps the lines of communication open with our homeowners. Tony is a husband and father of two.

2008

Business Inception

Lou'ay Sulaiman decided to apply his knowledge of landscaping and marketing to create a company that could serve his community. Burloak Landscaping came into the business.

2009

Service Expansion

We expanded our services to include interlocking projects and backyard makeovers! Designing small walkways and backyard patios for clients who wished to add curb appeal to their homes, or simply build a better place to relax in their backyards.

2012

Environmental Changes

Burloak started to take the environment seriously. We began installing recycled turf grass to cut down on excessive fertilizing and gas powered mowers and permeable driveways that help the environment by recycling water back into the ground, eliminating runoff. Burloak Landscaping is continually striving to improve the quality of life by listening to our customers’ needs, and current environmental trends.

Today we are a full-service landscape design and construction company. We have a full team ready to provide whatever it is your imagination requires. Form outdoor gas fireplaces and BBQ's to poolside washrooms and bars with all the amenities. Take advantage of our experience with landscape lighting to showcase your beautiful space. We hired another landscaping company in Feb to start our project in June. That company bailed the last minute and left me hanging in the middle of the busy summer season. I called 30 companies, majority of them did not even bother to return my calls. Only a 2 came and gave me a quote. Everyone else were busy and booked until end of August ect. I called Bur-Oak and Mark immediately replied to my email and came out gave me a quote. He was very reasonable and was trying very hard to redo the quotes several times to fit my budget. Burl-Oak Landscaping is an amazing and well run company. The whole team was always on time, professional and did exactly what they promised and more. Excellent experience from start to finish and would highly recommend the team to everyone. Mark and the team helped us completely transform our backyard into a highly functional part of our home. Mark in particular went above and beyond time and time again - from coming up with a solution to a logistical problem (my backyard was difficult to access), and providing a very fair price for the job, to collaborating with us on design. Burl-Oak Landscaping did my families place in Mississauga. They did such a phenomenal job, we asked them to do our driveway and side of the house in Hamilton. They used permeable interlocking so our tree was safe, and it has held up for a few years (unlike our neighbours concrete or asphalt drives). We liked their work so much, we had them back this past year to update our back yard with landscaping and a new patio.

We are returning customers of Burl-Oak Landscaping. We had our front steps and retaining wall completed in 2019 and were happy with their work. We just had them back to build a stone backyard patio with steps and plants. The patio looks great and we are excited to use it for the remainder of the summer. As soon as we reached out, Mark came to hear our ideas and gave us a quote with some suggestions of his own for improvement. Louay, Tony, and the team arrived promptly and completed our project in a timely manner with great professionalism. We were glad to have them back so that they could bring our backyard vision to life.
